How to Claim a Bounty

Complete the task. Submit your proof. Get paid.

Before You Claim

Three things, and none of them take long.

Do the work first — finish the task and post it publicly before you claim.
Keep the link — you'll paste it when you claim.
Collateral — a refundable deposit you get back when your claim passes. Some bounties don't need one, and on many we cover it for you.

How to Claim

1

Find your bounty

Open the bounty you've completed and hit Claim Bounty.

2

Submit your proof

Paste the link to your work and post your collateral. If we're covering it, you'll see so before you submit.

3

Wait out the window

Once you submit, there's a 24-hour window for anyone to dispute. If nobody does, it passes and you get paid.

What Happens Next

Success

No dispute — No one disputed within 24 hours. Your claim is confirmed. Click "Claim Rewards" to receive the bounty reward and your collateral back.
Disputed — ruled in your favor — Someone disputed your claim, but the platform reviewed your proof and ruled it sufficient. You receive the bounty reward, your collateral back, and 50% of the disputers' collateral.

Failed

Disputed — ruled against you — The platform reviewed your proof and ruled it insufficient. You lose your collateral. Only claim bounties you've genuinely completed.
Bounty expires unclaimed — If no one claims a bounty before its deadline, it expires and becomes unclaimable. The funds are returned to the contributors.

Disputing isn't free either — a disputer stakes their own collateral, and it takes enough of them to trigger a review. One objection doesn't put your claim at risk.

Common Questions

Why do I need collateral?

Collateral prevents false claims.

  • After you claim, there's a 24-hour window where anyone can dispute your submission. Disputers must put up collateral too.
  • If no one disputes, your claim auto-passes and you get paid.
  • If disputed, the platform reviews the bounty terms against your proof. If your proof is sufficient, you receive: the bounty reward, your collateral back, and 50% of the disputers' collateral.
What if my wallet is empty?

Often we cover it — you'll see so in the app before you submit. If not, you can top up with a debit card, credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

What if the bounty needs approval first?

Some bounties ask the creator to approve your proof before you can claim. You'll submit your link for review, and the claim button unlocks once it's approved. If it's turned down, you can fix the work and submit again.

What if I lose a dispute?

If your claim is disputed and the platform rules against you, you lose your collateral. This is rare and only happens when the submitted proof doesn't meet the bounty's stated terms. Only claim bounties you've genuinely completed.
